Clarification on Gut Instincts Rant
Yesterday I posted a rant about the issue of learning to trust your gut instincts and used an illustration for the post showing a sign on the wall that says “Dog Adoption Fair Today”. My dear friend Diane, who founded PAALS (People and Animals Living Synergistically), an organization dedicated to rescuing and serving old people and old animals, called to ask why in the world I would use THAT illustration. Huh? From her perspective, it seemed I was suggesting people shouldn’t adopt animals at pet fairs or from animal shelters. That hadn’t even occurred to me and nothing could be further from the truth! So, to clarify, if you are in the market for a pet, I encourage you to visit your local animal shelter or go to a pet adoption fair, not the pet store! There are literally millions of wonderful abandoned and abused dogs and cats waiting for permanent homes. You could start your search at www.paalsforlife.com!
